School was out for the day. It was around 4 in the afternoon and Oliver had absolutely nothing to do. His work was finished, and he didn't have a job ... so he really couldn't go do that. The little amount of friends he did have were busy and couldn't hang out or anything, so he was pretty much stuck all alone for the rest of that evening. Not that he minded of course, Oliver liked to be alone most of the time, but company would be appreciated once and a while.
For now though, Oliver took out his camera. It keeps him occupied with his time, and he also just enjoys it. Ever since his sister passed away a few years ago, Oliver took to photography. He took pictures of random things, things he liked, things his sister Lily used to like. They were all over his bedroom, different collages of anything and everything.
And as he walked around downtown, taking pictures of building, people, etc, he smiled. His music was playing in his ears through his iPod, and it was beautiful outside. Sunny, with a few clouds and a nice breeze. Oliver took a breath, and he was calm. His blue eyes searched the streets of California, and the huge amount of people walking around him. It seemed as if he was nobody.

claire was the type of girl that was always doing something, not because she had to, but because she liked to keep herself busy. it wasn't unusual to find her wandering around town after school trying to find something to do, and today was no different than any other. well, besides the fact that she wasn't surrounded by her usual group of friends. it wasn't that she depended on the proximity of other people, she simply enjoyed sharing experiences with those she was close with -- being alone was not something claire was used to, but sometimes it was just what she needed.
head down, claire's light blue eyes followed the patterns in the pavement as she wandered the sidewalks of downtown bluewater. her hands were stuffed in the front pockets of her jeans, fingers fiddling with the loose strings that had started to come loose. she wasn't paying much attention to what was going on around her, simply listening to her surroundings and appreciating the hundreds of voices that seemed to meld together into one huge symphony. looking up for a split second, her eyes caught sight of a camera angled towards her, and she stopped in her tracks. oh, shit.. she laughed awkwardly, sorry if i got in the way.

Oliver's pictures today had tended to be of people. California had so many different types, he couldn't help but explore their styles and looks. Sometimes it was embarrassing to have people yell at him for taking a photo of them, and sometimes it had to be deleted, but he just found other people interesting. And so he had taken a picture of one girl, who had long wavy brown hair, and bright blue eyes. Her style wasn't plain, nor was it outrageous, but Oliver thought it was subtle. And so he snapped a photo.
But she had thought different. "Oh! No, you weren't in my way ..." He spoke softly, but loud enough for her to hear. "I hope you don't mind, but I actually took a photo of you?" Oliver had a questioning tone in her voice. It wasn't the first time somebody was offended by his actions, so he was ready to delete the picture. But if she didn't mind that made it even better.

when it came to hobbies, claire didn't have many. she wasn't artistic at all. well, besides the time she spent singing along to songs on the radio, but that hardly counted. she couldn't take a photo without it turning out blurry, and anything she tried to draw turned out looking like a deformed stick person. the only thing she was remotely good at was math, physics being her favourite. a lot of her time was spent coming up with solutions, head stuck in her textbook as she worked through equations.
well, that's good. claire smiled, hand running through her hair to get it out of her eyes. so what were yo-- she started, pausing mid-sentence as he answered the question for her. oh. to be honest, she hadn't expected to be the subject, but she wasn't angry with him. do you mind if i take a look at it? she asked, stepping towards him, eying his camera curiously.

Thankfully, the girl didn't mind. But she did want to see it. Oliver thought that being a girl, she may want to see if she looked good or not. But he believed she did. So, he handed her his camera. Oliver was pretty sure she wasn't about to drop it and break it or anything, he wasn't that anal about his camera. Well ... sometimes there's an exception. "Sure, here you go." Oliver handed her the camera and studied her a bit more as she looked at it.
She had long, brown wavy hair, and bright blue eyes. She was shorter than him, with small hips and dark skin. Her lips were full, as was her face. Oliver thought she was beautiful. She was probably a few years older than him though, he couldn't tell. "I'm Oliver." He introduced himself, holding out his hand shyly, "It's nice to meet you."
