Ariana stepped out into the bright sunglight, raising her hand to shield the sun from her face. It was late afternoon and the sun was slowly but surely dipping into the horizon, casting long shadows behind everything. She slipped on her sunglasses, which seemed to only partially solve the problem. She stepped down from the patio, taking long strides across the wide driveway, her face determined, but soft. She slid her phone out of her pocket, glancing down at the dim screen. Gabriel had texted her, told her that he had to see her again. Of course, the moment she read that, her face lit up. It had been a while since their first date and she was getting a little worried that he had simply forgotten about her. A silly thought, she knew, if he felt the same thing she did as they sat on the beach; their hands twined together, smiles permanently masked on their lips. It was..magical, the way she felt when he even breathed her name, let alone touched her. It was like a sort of electricity sparked whenever he slid his hand into hers, when he slipped his arm around her waist. Everything just felt a little bit more..okay, with him.
The sun was hot on her back by the time she reached the park, her hands a little clammy from gripping her phone. She had no idea where she was going once she got to the park, he hadn't told her any details. She could appreciate the subtle romanticism in that..not that she thought he was trying to be romantic or anything, it was only their second date, after all. If this even counted as a date. She ducked beneath a low-hanging tree branch, peering around the trunk of the tree. She wanted to see him before he saw her..surprise him. She smiled, thinking about sneaking up behind him, placing her hands over his eyes gently, and whispering in his ear..she shook her head. That was silly..childish. She scanned the large, open park area, still practically hugging the tree, only to completely fail at spotting Gabriel. He had to be around here somewhere..

family had always been one of the most important things in the young man’s life. it was no surprise that, since his youngest age, he had always been the one helping his mother out and taking care of his numerous siblings. it certainly helped that he was the oldest child and so had some kind of authority over them, even though he would never have taken advantage of it by making them do anything that was not necessary. no matter how relaxed and laidback he claimed to be, when it came down to his family, he most likely would have done anything to protect them. but only if they needed it. he was not one of those overprotective brothers either who always needed to keep an eye on his siblings. he would most likely let them know that they could always call him if they ever needed his help and then would let them do anything they wanted. after all, you could not really keep people from doing things. the more you would keep them from doing a certain thing, the more they would want to do it and it would end up even worse than if you had let them do that certain thing in the first place. anyway. the point was that family was really important to this very man, even though he did not seem to show it in his everyday life. he was also the player type. one to go after a woman after the other, never seeming to be satisfied by any one of them. to outsiders, he must have seemed like the biggest player, always having a new girl in his life almost every week or so. however, what they did not know was that all this thing he got himself in by choosing a new girl every week was simply because he was trying to find the right one. he was trying to find the girl he really wanted to be with, to have a serious relationship, unlike many boys of his age. he wanted to settle down for at least a while and see how things would work out with this particular girl, once he would have found her. he wanted to have a family of his own, have kids to take care of, have a wife to take care of. he wanted all the things that his family was, big, loving, and.. well, pure awesome. his main goal in life, as far as he could remember, had always been to have a family of his own, have a job he loved, and settle down. well, after the whole ‘i want a super cool car’ and all these things a teenager would usually think of. things had all seemed to fall perfectly into place after his first date with ariana. there was simply this thing about her that made him want to be with her at absolutely every single moment of the day, to spend more and more time with her even though they had only spent a single evening together so far. there had only been two girls before in his life which had had a similar effect on gabriel, but the effect ariana had on him was definitely much stronger than those. he could remember the smile on her lips, her laugh, the way she would blush at any comment he would make on how beautiful she was. that was something he did not quite understand. why would she blush? was she not aware of the fact that she was beautiful? if so, he planned on making sure to tell her every single day of the rest of.. well, the time they would have the chance of spending together. and, for some reason, he knew that, deep inside, he wanted that time to last for a much longer time than any of his relationships had before. he was not one to rush into things. and to make sure everything was going to be fine with this one, he would definitely take it more than slow, if that even existed. that was the main reason why he had waited a few days before he had finally texted her. and, trust me, it had probably been harder on him to wait to finally text her then for her to wait for him to give her a sign that he was still alive and wanted to see her again. it had been hard, painful even, to wait so long to see her again. so as he waited rather patiently for a young man who was quite impatient to see her again, his eyes ran constantly over people’s faces in the park. he played with his phone which had remained in his hands ever since he had texted her. he pulled at the bottom of his shirt, making sure it was placed correctly. he ran a hand through his hair, messing it up slightly before quickly replacing it. if anyone had been watching him just now, it would have been obvious to them that he was nervous, anxious, panicked? no.. that was too big of a word to express how he felt. he simply could not contain himself and actually could not believe that he could not. after all, was it really any different from when he had invited other girls to come join him in any place. he took a deep breath, finally calming down slightly.. until he saw her. gabriel almost dropped his phone to the ground as he started to walk towards her, a large smile stuck to his lips as he always did whenever he was around her. however, he tried to keep his cool and not be all nervous when he would in front of her. he kept on walking towards her, tilting his head lightly as she seemed to be hiding behind a tree. raising an eyebrow, he came up behind her, placing both of his hands gently on her hips and standing behind her, though slightly to her right. if you were trying to hide from me, bella. it didn’t work.. he said gently in her ear, leaning forward and kissing her cheek lightly, only then removing his hands from her hips to come stand in front of her, still smiling. he could not help it. this thing about her that he loved so much just made him simply unable to not smile even if it was in the slightest way possible. he leaned against the tree she had been hiding behind and put on his most relaxed face even though he was feeling like his heart was going to jump out of his chest at any second. he took deep breaths, trying his hardest to keep his calm. i’m really glad you came. i.. couldn’t wait to see you again. he let his slight italian accent take over his voice, knowing that most girls liked this. however, it was only afterwards that he remembered that, so far, ariana had been nothing like other girls. and he had a feeling she was going to keep surprising him. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - credit , to me tagged , miss ariana noelle riese, aka meagannnn. music , what makes you beautiful, 1D. hehehehe. outfit , clickers, bby.words , one one eight zero. notes , gabe makes me die hrughutrhgutrd.

Family had always been, in all honesty, a word that Ariana never really put too much stock into. It was full of connotations..'love' 'time' 'happiness'; all things that were supposed to surround a family, yet hardly described it. As for Ariana's family, it consisted of herself and her mother, occasionally an aunt and uncle from her dad's side would slip into their lives and then back out as fast as they came, afraid that if they stayed for too long they'd be stuck there. Why, would being stuck in the Riese home be such a horrible thing, you ask? Let's just say that throughout Ariana's childhood, she's had to sort of..hold the pieces together of her. Her mother, though witty, sarcastic, and brilliant, always fought with bouts of depression, periods that usually ended with Ariana holding a box of tissues, telling her it'd be okay. More often than not, she would have to convince her mother that her father would never come back, that she couldn't win him back. It was like rebreaking her heart, reminding her of the day when he left them; a day Ariana didn't even remember. Family, as far as Ariana was concerned, was nothing more than a word, a word that was so tangible, so pliable, that a word, a look, even a memory, can send it shattering to pieces.
The moment that Gabriel spoke to her, she knew that he had something that she just couldn't ignore. She was a bubbly, social, outgoing girl that, of course, had had several boyfriends in high school; some more serious than others. Each of them struck a different chord inside Ariana. One boy might give her butterflies when he smiled at her, another would make her laugh at anything. After that first date, after their many exchanged smiles and laughs, after a small kiss on her cheek sent an electrical current down her spine, every single nerve in her body told her to see him again, practically screaming to feel his touch again. So as Ariana, peering around from behind the tree, felt two hands smoothly settle on her hips, she froze, unsure of what to do. She felt his breath light on her neck as he whispered, and her own breathing quickened slightly. Suddenly, she was afraid that he would be able to hear her heart beating faster, nervousness building up throughout her entire body. She felt his lips brush her cheek, and by the time he was standing in front of her, she figured it might be smart to say something, as opposed to just standing there. She put on her best smirk, almost forcing it on her lips. That's too bad..I was really hoping that this tree would make for a pretty decent hiding spot With the smirk still plastered on her face, she criticised herself seriously, ariana? that's the best you could come up with? She silences her inner thoughts when he speaks again, this time looking relaxed as he leaned up against the tree. She smiled and stepped a bit closer to him. yeah..me too She noted this slightly pronounced Italian accent, something that seemed to sort of fade throughout their first date. Of course, that accent grabbed her attention, but it was more than that that kept pulling her in. More than just the physical. She leaned forward a bit, almost as if going for a kiss, then shifted her weight to her right, stepping beside and then past him, turning around once she's a few steps away from him. She smiled, holding out her hand. C'mon. She looked at his eyes for a moment, then shifted her gaze down to her hand; she was itching to feel that smooth transition from alone to connected.
