Ricky was dancing in his car outside of the day care. As he was rapping to the lyrics of "I'm A Boss" he was completely ignoring the odd looks he was getting from the parents of the children at the daycare. As the song came to an end though, he checked the time and then was puzzled for a moment. He could've sworn that she told him to pick her up at 4:00, but it was already the stoner's holiday (4:20) and she had yet to show her pretty face. Turning of the car, he stepped out and took a deep breath as he closed the car door. Arching himself forward, he took a few awkward looking steps forward as he stretched his back and then made his way inside.
Walking through the hall, he looked around to see the place looking like a zoo. Parents were waiting for kids and the kids were running around terrorizing the desks tables and chairs. Leaning against the wall, he gave a nod to someone that looked in his direction. He wasn't really sure when nodding was made an acceptable greeting, but he took it and they simply nodded back. Looking around he wondered where or where could his beautiful girlfriend be. And then he saw her. A smile immediately spread across his face. Oh to be young and in love. She had yet to notice him though, and in spite of the fact that it was pretty creepy, he simply stared at her and took in the site of an angel before him.
That was until he started laughing. Some little boy thought it'd be a good idea to run and jump over a chair. What in the world are they teaching these kids? He didn't even come close to making it over as Ricky remembered where he was and cleared his throat. Even though he could feel someone's eyes burning a hole in the side of his head, he wouldn't look in the direction of that child's mother. Instead, he was trying to flag down his loving girlfriend and mouthing the words "We gotta goooo."

if there was one thing about catalina, she hardly ever paid attention to the time. she was notorious for being late when going out to places or taking her time when it came to completing tasks. the only place where it mattered most for showing up on time was attending courses at the local university. she liked to keep in track of her grades and making sure that she's on good terms with each of her professors. otherwise, she could kiss her college scholarship goodbye. catalina earned this scholarship from achieving high honor roll grades throughout high school. it took a lot of work to find the right scholarship to help out with her education costs, but once she received it, catalina instantly went to college for childhood education. in the meantime, catalina worked at a local daycare to help out with the cost of her living expenses in an apartment complex located downtown.
it was quite the hectic lifestyle to deal with chaotic toddlers during her free time, but catalina knew what to do when it came to kids. she somehow had the mother instinct already inside of her which made it the perfect job to help out at the daycare. somehow she managed to have the time to do her assignments with passing marks, maintain a relationship with ricky, and keep a part time job at the daycare. even though the daycare does get quite stressful and some of her professors give out difficult essays to do, catalina managed to do it all. speaking of maintaining a relationship, she noticed ricky. glancing at the clock on her stroll over to him, catalina looked apologetic. "whoops, i'm sorry. didn't notice the time." catalina felt bad about making him wait twenty minutes.

With all the action and chaos going on around them, it was no wonder that she had lost track of time. Checking his watch again, he placed his hands in his pockets and looked around. It was kind of ironic that he was waiting with all of the parents as if waiting for his child. He did call her baby…but she was far from a child. As she started coming closer, he took a few steps toward her and wrapped his arms around her waist and planted a kiss on her cheek.
”No worries. How much more time do you need? I have class tonight at 5:30, but I was hoping to grab a quick bite beforehand.”
Ricky wasn’t one to sweat the small things. He understood that shit happens, and it seemed as though a whole bunch of shit was happening. In fact, some shit was literally happening as he tapped her shoulder a few times. His eyes got big as he couldn’t believe what was happening. It seemed as though someone was learning how to be potty trained, but they only got half the lessen.
”Mami…look.”
Turning her around, he pointed as a little girl pulled down her pants and was squatting near a desk. The girls face looked like she meant business as she tore up into that screwface. It was a small victory since she didn’t boo boo on herself, but it kind of sucked that should would be sharing it with the world. And someone had to clean that mess, he was just glad it wouldn’t be him.
